On Monday night, the Seattle safety saved his team from almost certain doom by coming up with a huge forced fumble late in the fourth quarter. The Lions were driving with less than two minutes to go when Matthew Stafford found Calvin Johnson for what looked like a go-ahead touchdown. Chancellor punched the ball out of Johnson’s hand at the 1-yard line.

The ball went out of the back of the end zone for a touchback. Seattle was able to run out the clock and earn an ugly 13-10 victory. Lions fans and Calvin Johnson fantasy owners everywhere screamed in agony.

Earlier in the fourth, Stafford hit Johnson for a 7-yard gain. Any chance of yards after the catch was abruptly shut down by Chancellor when he turned into Optimus Prime and destroyed Megatron.

I assume Johnson’s thoughts went something like this after the hit: “… OW… (deep breath)… SUPER OW.”

If Seahawks management needs more reason to pay Chancellor, it should just listen to Michael Bennett.
