Kazuha is an expert at amplifying elemental damage, thanks to his Swirl-inducing talents. Those hoping to level Kazuha up to his maximum potential will need to ascend him and upgrade his talents, all with the help of the following items and Mora.
Leveling Materials
Every Genshin Impact character takes the same amount of EXP to reach level 90, outlined level by level below.
It takes a lot of leveling materials to reach this high, though this is a pretty efficient combination:
Kazuha Ascension Materials
Kazuha is an Anemo character, which is rather fitting with his belief in freedom, so he uses Vayuda Turquoise to ascend. Alongside this, he’ll also need some enemy drops and Sea Ganoderma, a local plant in Inazuma. All the Kazuha ascension materials, including how many are needed in total, are outlined here:
Gemstones - Where to Find Vayuda Turquoise
Gemstones of any kind can be obtained by completing daily commissions, as event rewards, and purchasing them from the souvenir shops in Liyue Harbor and Mondstadt. However, some bosses and Trounce domain challenges drop specific gems.

Unfortunately, only three bosses and Trounce domains can drop Vayuda Turquoise:
Anemo Hypostasis Maguu Kenki Stormterror/Dvalin
Enemy Drop - Where to Find Treasure Hoarder Insignias
Every character uses some type of common enemy drop in their ascension, and Kazuha is no different. He requires the Insignias dropped by Treasure Hoarders, which come in three levels:
Treasure Hoarder Insignias, dropped by any Treasure Hoarder enemy Silver Raven Insignias, dropped by level 40+ Treasure Hoarder enemies Golden Raven Insignias, dropped by level 60+ Treasure Hoarder enemies
Treasure Hoarders can be found almost anywhere, but they do appear in good numbers around ruins in Liyue. There are also quite a few of them in the underground portion of the Chasm.
Boss Drop - How to Get Marionette Cores
The Maguu Kenki boss is a skilled swordmaster, and Kaedehara Kazuha is descended from master swordmakers. Therefore, it’s a bit interesting that Kazuha needs to defeat this automaton for his ascension. He’ll need Marionette Cores, which are dropped by the Maguu Kenki.
This strange puppet-like being is found on Yashiori Island. It was also found in the Golden Apple Archipelago during the Midsummer Island Adventure event, though it’s not currently known if that will take place again, or if the Maguu Kenki will be a part of it if it does.
Local Specialty - Where to Find Sea Ganoderma
Like the Maguu Kenki, Sea Ganoderma could be found in the Golden Apple Archipelago but are now found around Inazuma. These blue plants grow in shallow waters along Inazuman coastlines, especially near the north shores of Seirai Island and around Kannazuka.
There are two other ways to find Sea Ganoderma as well. They can be grown in the Serenitea Pot, and they can be purchased from Obata, who operates his shop in Ritou. He stocks five Sea Ganoderma every three days, and sells them for 1,000 Mora each.
Kazuha Talent Materials
Kazuha is an honorable samurai who lives by a strict ethical code, so it makes sense that he uses the Diligence series of talent books to upgrade his abilities. It is a bit confusing, considering he’s an Inazuma character but he uses Liyue talent books. However, this is because Kazuha himself was released before the actual Inazuma region was accessible in the game.
In addition to those books, he uses some more insignias, one of Azhdaha’s drops, Crowns of Insight, and of course some Mora.
Talent Books - Diligence
The Diligence series of talent books are obtained by clearing the Taishan Mansion domain on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. They can also be obtained as event rewards, by crafting, and from other sources from time to time, like the other talent book series.
Trounce Materials
The Gilded Scales that Kazuha uses for his talents are a drop from Azhdaha, whose Trounce challenge can be unlocked by finishing the second chapter of Zhongli’s story quest. If the Gilded Scales prove elusive, other materials from Azhdaha (Bloodjade Branch and Dragon Lord’s Crown) can be converted into a Gilded Scale with the help of some Dream Solvent and a crafting bench.
How to get Crowns of Insight
Every talent needs a Crown of Insight to increase from level 9 to level 10, meaning every Genshin Impact character needs three of them to upgrade their abilities fully. These rare items can be obtained by making offerings to the Sacred Sakura and Frostbearing Tree, or from special events.
